Production H2R Photos
What makes a production H2R? In 1973 Kawasaki produced about 15 H2R's with very similar specifications. The specification of these were:
- Race frame
- Fiber-glass tank
- Engine cases (based on the street bike) but welded at the back for more strength
- Cylinders like the street bike but with the rh and lh cylinders swapped
- Magnesium Clutch Cover
- Magnesium hubbed, spoked wheels
- Cast Iron disks
- Typically with engine and frame number 908XX
These bikes were supplied to many of the factory supported teams, Boyer, Neville Doyle, and Erv Kanemoto. Team Hansen (the official factory team), however, used frames of different specification and in fact many specifications during this time.
This particular bike was raced by the frenchman Christian Leon. In its
Elf Blue and White livery it was featured in a number of magazines in
France during the early 70's.
